Next arcticle, this time in Polish Polar Research entitled: Forty years of warming: Environmental change in marine coastal habitats on Svalbard between 1981 and 2022 by Jan Marcin Węsławski and Jacek A. Urbański.
In this areticle, the hypothesis is posited that the reduction of ice cover opens more space for life compared to the cold period. Broadly speaking, the increase in temperature, along with the resulting retreat of ice cover in Svalbard, changes in the hydrology and geomorphology of fjords and coastal waters, is presented as a force shaping marine habitats.
